Chania is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe, with a history spanning more than 5,000 years. The city's rich cultural heritage reflects the civilizations that shaped Crete, including the Minoans, Venetians, Ottomans, and modern Greeks.
The picturesque Old Town, with its narrow cobbled streets, elegant Venetian mansions, Ottoman monuments, and historic churches, is a living museum where every corner tells a story. The iconic Venetian Harbor, the Egyptian Lighthouse, the Firkas Fortress, and the Archaeological Museum of Chania are among the city's most celebrated landmarks.
Museums, galleries, restored historical buildings, traditional neighborhoods, and vibrant cultural events create a unique blend of history, art, and contemporary Cretan life.
